Hope you had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year!!!

This wonderful year is coming to an end. I wish I could wrap up 2009 and replay it over and over. 2009 was magical from start to finish. I know I am blessed and remember it every day. My resolution for 2010 is to cherish every day and live life to the fullest.

PIII was home for Christmas and we got to spend several days with him which we thoroughly enjoyed. He is getting ready to move into a new apartment in Brooklyn and is looking forward to that. It is much closer to work and he really doesn't like Manhattan. I think it would be fun but he likes the friendly neighborhood and lack of tourists in Brooklyn. I guess I can't blame him. New York City probably gets old after a while.

Jon and Hannah stayed in Denver this Christmas. They were very missed. This is the first year that Jon hasn't been with us on Christmas Eve. I hope this isn't a regular thing. They both work at the hospital and could not get off to come home.

Charlie is now officially employed at Vesuvius. This is the company his father worked for so he is very proud to be working for them. He is moving up to Mom's this weekend and will probably move into Nana and Pupa's house now that Kathy is moving up north permanently. Big changes are in store for his 2010.

Clint and Amanda are back in Kalamazoo and will be there for another year until Amanda finishes school at Western. Clint is going to work and will go back to finish his last year at Eastern when they move back here. Western won't take his Specs Howard credits and he was taking classes he had already taken. It was a waste of money so he decided to just work for a year. He is working at Best Buy. They just moved into a new apartment and are both working their butts off these days. I got Clint a day shadowing Rebecca Regnier ( a local reporter) and he is excited about that.

Cheri is home for a couple more weeks and then it will be back to Adrian to finish up her freshman year. She is looking to move into a house next year with a couple of friends. She had a good first semester and now will be starting some marketing classes, which will be more interesting that the required classes she took this semester. She is still cheering and is working at the hockey rink at the college.

We love you all and hope this 2010 bring love, peace, health, and happiness for all of you!

Enjoy the pics from Christmas 2009!!!

Love,
Cindy

Christmas is finally starting in our house!

Today Cheri and her friends, Courtney and Katie, got together to make Christmas cookies at my house. I think they used every bowl and utensil in the house. I got neon food coloring and the cookies looked more like Easter cookies than Christmas cookies. It didn't matter because they tasted great. They looked pretty good too. The girls also had a ball making them.

Courtney got a puppy yesterday and I am now the grandmother to the dog (hey, I'll take what I can get for now). Libby has been over to visit twice. Cheri babysat her last night and Libby came over with Courtney to make cookies. She is a sweet puppy and never had an accident in my house! Cheyenne isn't sure of her yet but she is coming around. Vader, the cat, hates the puppy but she still hates Cheyenne and we have had her for over three years.

Charlie has moved back home and I am loving have him around. Charlie took Kerri's son, Thomas, to a Toledo Walleye hockey game last night and spent the night at the ice rink. The kids got to meet the players and shoot the hockey puck on the ice. This morning Thomas came home with Charlie and spent the day with us. The girls were making cookies and I made Chicken and Dumplings so it was a busy household (my favorite kind). We intended to get the tree up, but got sidetracked with the puppy and kids so that will have to happen tomorrow. Tonight I have to get my cards addressed so I can send them out tomorrow.

Kerri came to pick up Thomas and brought Miss Natalie over for a visit. Thomas is seven and Natalie is seven months old. Kerri has been wonderful enough to share her beautiful kids with us and I spoil them like grandkids, since I don't have any yet. It is extremely fun and they are great kids. I love having little kids around again. I just wasn't happy to hear Natalie has to have heart surgery again next month. She has a narrow valve and it is closing up again. If it doesn't work this time they will have to put a stint in and that has to be replaced as she grows. She is just too little to deal with heart problems. There should be a law that children cannot get sick.

Next weekend Clint and Amanda are moving into their new apartment. The one they live in now has too many "rowdy" people living there (they crack me up). We are going up to Kalamazoo to help them move. I hope the weather cooperates. Western Michigan was closed down this week because of the snow. K-zoo is right off Lake Michigan and gets a ton of lake effect snow.

PIII is coming home for Christmas, but I don't think Jonathan is. He is working at the hospital and can't get off. It will be strange to not have him here this year. I guess we won't get a picture of the five of them this Christmas. I hope Jon sends pictures of his holiday in Denver. Will will really miss him.

Hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas!

A wonderful, busy weekend in the Ramirez/Anderson household.

Last weekend Clint and Amanda were home and I never took pictures. We did dinner and a movie with the family. It was nice to have them home for a change. They have been very busy since the wedding. Clint is working at Home Depot and going to school. Amanda is working at Burdicks, going to school, and doing some student teaching. We are going to Kalamazoo the Sunday after Thanksgiving for dinner since they can't come home.

This week has been crazy busy. I have deadlines in Newspaper and Yearbook, I am starting a new Zumba class Tuesday, and my Speech and Theater class just put on a play. I have a picture of them doing the play Friday in my Little Theater, which I have discovered is haunted. I keep seeing shadows and thinking someone is walking in the class. It is getting kinda creepy. I won't stay in there without the door open.

I posted a picture of my Newspaper kids but forgot to download the Yearbook group picture Friday. I will add it tomorrow when I get to school.

Friday night Paul and I had a date. We went to dinner and a movie at the theater. We saw 2012 and it was really good. Saturday we went to Cheri's last football game. Mom, Mike, Charlie, Kortnie, Paul, and I all went to the game. I have pictures of everyone but Kortnie. She leaned out of the picture when I took it. We took Cheri and her friend, Courtney, out to dinner after the game. Courtney's mom, sister, and her sister's friend came with us.

Sunday Paul and I headed up to Ann Arbor with Jane and Debbie. Dominic (Paul's brother's son - he is 5 years old) was in town and staying with his grandmother. We picked him up and took him out to lunch and to Toys R Us. We got Dominic and Melina a toy for Dominic to take back with him. He also tested out every battery operated vehicle so we took the opportunity to take some pictures. We only had a couple of hours with him because he was heading back to Baltimore on a plane with his grandma. It was a wonderful visit. I found it very interesting that his grandparents speak to him in German and he has picked it up pretty easily. We will have to get him to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Ramirez to pick up Spanish. The kid will be trilingual.

The rest of Sunday was spent with Miss Cheri. She came into town to do her laundry and I took her to Urgent Care since she has had a cough for two weeks. Doc said she is fine, just a leftover cough from a cold. She said it could last weeks. I just wanted to check since she isn't home all the time. There has been so much sickness going around. It seems to be getting better. I hardly had any absences this week.

I hope this finds everyone well. Enjoy the pictures!

Cindy

Paul III's birthday pie - he doesn't like cake (I have no idea what I am saying in this picture)

Swine Flu and Cheri's first semester at Adrian

Well, I am home from work because I am on day 5 of my Swine Flu. Several of my students have tested postitive for the H1N1 so my doctor is telling me that is what I have. I have all the symtoms of the Swine Flu. I haven't been this sick in about 17 years. I do feel better today. The fever is going down but the coughing is picking up. I probably won't be back to work until Wednesday or Thursday. I am praying that none of you get this. I actually thought I was going to die a for a few days in the middle of this.

Since I am feeling a bit better, I thought I would post a few fun pictures of Cheri at college. The best part about facebook is that I can steal pictures from Cheri and her friends and I get to see all the crazy stuff they do. I've posted some of the best ones. They take late night trips to Walmart and pose for crazy pictures. They go into the college library and theater for pictures. They take trips to Mackinac, the Toledo Zoo and someplace that had crawl through things for kids their size. They also went on a secret mission that I was told about but sworn to secrecy.

Cheri is having the time of her life at college. Her post the other day on facebook was "I love my life = )" What is not to love about her life?

Clint and Amanda are doing great too. Amanda is busy with student teaching and is starting to serve at her job (more money in tips!). Clint is working at Best Buy and both of them are doing well in their classes. They are loving the married life. They are also so busy I am not getting many pictures of them lately.

Charlie and Kortnie are both job hunting right now. On nice days they take off on the Harley. They visit me at bowling and stop over to check on me since I have been sick. Let's wish them luck on the job hunting. Kortnie is looking into becoming a phlebotomist. I wish her luck with that since I would faint.

PIII just celebrated his 30th birthday. He was here a week ago and we had a dinner party for him (see pics above). Then he went to Florida to help his Mom move down there. I can't believe Paul has a kid that is 30 (of course, once they hit 30 they are all Paul's kids and not mine!).

Jon and Hannah are busy working. I haven't heard much from them since we went to Denver. We have Dad Ramirez's car here and Paul is having it sent to Jon. Dad got a new car from Florida and is giving his to Jon since Jon's car died. Jon can walk to the hospital he is working at so he has been living without a car for a while now. I'm sure he will be happy to get some wheels again. Mom and Dad Ramirez dropped off the car but I wouldn't let them in the house. I really don't want them sick like I am.

Paul has escaped the Swine flu so far. I've been sleeping on the couch and staying away from him the best I can. I really don't want him to get this. He has been getting me food, drinks, and medicine for almost a week now. I haven't been off the couch since Thursday night.

Mom and Mike came over Saturday (I think -the days kinda ran together for a while) and brought me soup, jello, yogurt, and a Snuggie. Mike made the soup and I am still eating it. It hit the spot. They only stayed a few minutes and both wore masks. I'm hoping that was good enough. I don't want them sick too.

I hope this finds everyone healthy and far away from the pig flu. Wash your hands and stay healthy.

Love Ya,
Cindy
