Winning the Bedford Invitational

I am off again today because we are being dumped on with snow. I just looked outside and there is a half of a foot on Cheri's car. The storm was supposed to just miss us but I guess they were wrong because we are getting hammered. I decided to take the time to add some wonderful pictures to the blog. Cheri's cheer team hosted a competition Saturday and the girls won 1st place. They did such a great job. I got a few and one of my yearbook kids took some good ones too. The last picture is one that Cheri finally got of Cheyenne and I for the yearbook. We are taking expressive pictures for the yearbook and I wanted one with my dog. Enjoy the pictures and I hope all of you are staying warm and dry because I know this storm is a big one.

I LOVE being a teacher !!!

I am off today because it is too cold to go to school. What other job in the world does that happen? The picture below of Cheyenne and I is a failed attempt I took of us for the yearbook. We are supposed to take fun pictures for our goodbye page and I want one with my dog. I can't seem to get time with Paul or Cheri where I look decent so I tried to take it myself and well...you see the results. I am going to make it a priority this weekend to have one of them take a decent one outside in the snow or somewhere fun. It would be funny if we could get to her giving me a big slobbery kiss. The picture of Cheri and Christina was taken last Friday when they competed in regionals for fashion merchandising in DECA. I can't remember what DECA stands for but it is a club Cheri is in for her marketing class. She is going to states in March. If they win states they go to California to compete for scholarship money. I hope she goes into marketing in college because she is really good at it. She is really good in math too. She is taking pre-calc now. Maybe this will show her how good she really is. I hope you are all staying warm. We are supposed to have -30 wind chill tomorrow (Friday) and Paul said that they cancel school at -20 so I should be off again. Oh yea, I'm off Monday for Martin Luther King Day too. Did I tell you how much I love being a teacher?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you we love so dearly!

I've posted several pictures from Christmas Eve at my in-laws' house. Mel and Jane are Paul's sister and brother-in-law that host many of our gatherings since they have the biggest house. They are wonderful. In the picture with PIII and Aunt Deb (another of Paul's sisters) look behind Paul and click on the picture to blow it up. There is an old family picture and you can see my handsome husband with a long mustache and Afro. I remember seeing this for the first time and was very amused. I happened to capture it in the picture and thought you would all get a kick out of it (he is on the far left if you can't find him, but I am sure that won't be an issue ;). I wish all of the 5 sisters and 3 brothers were there because we need an updated Ramirez family photo. Sue didn't arrive until the day after Christmas and Jim just moved to Baltimore and couldn't make it home (the oldest and youngest are very important).

All my clan is doing great. We have a busy year planned. In addition to our jobs and still working on the house, we are going on a cruise for spring break, Cheri graduates in June, somewhere in there a bridal shower needs to be planned, Clint and Amanda's wedding is in August, Cheri goes off to college this fall, I think the Ramirez's are planning a family reunion this summer, and oh yea, we are trying to fit in a trip to Seattle in July. I'll post it all here with pictures throughout the year for you.

We love you all and hope you have a great year!
