Relaxing Weekend...

I had a stress free weekend and it was really nice for a change. Friday I rented "Precious" and "The Box" and they were both really good. "Precious" was intense, but worth it. "The Box" freaked me out but Paul said it was dumb. It was just nice to have a movie night on the couch.

Saturday was a Girls' Day for Cheri and I. We went to get a mani and a pedi, with the foot/hand massage and the works. It was very relaxing. Paul and I went to dinner with our good friends, Debbie and John. After dinner we went back to their house and played Euchre with several other friends. It was a fun date night.

On Sunday, I practiced Zumba with one of my students, Christy. She has taken the classes to become an instructor and I was showing her how to set up her classes. She is going to get her feet wet by doing two songs in our next Zumba session. She also wants to co-teach with me her first year. I'm ready to pick up a few more classes. She is going to be a great teacher!

After practice, Paul and I started cleaning out the basement. I told Paul that we never need to go shopping because anything we need is somewhere in our house or barn. I figured out we have stuff from Paul, myself, PIII, Jon, Charlie, Clint, Cheri, Chuck, my Dad, my Nana, as well as random things from other deceased relatives; no wonder I am overwhelmed. We are going to clean out the basement then have a garage sale. Next, we will clean out the barn and have a barn sale. Our property is like a big garage sale. I have students that are willing to help me clean the barn for a cut of the sales. I'm taking them up on that! I can't find the stuff I want because of all the stuff I don't want. I have a garage sale pile, my stuff to organize pile, Paul's stuff to organize pile, the kids stuff to organize pile, and a "save for the grandkids" pile. We have two areas cleaned and organized...only four more areas to go...wish me luck! I forgot to mention we have already had 3 garage sales in the past few years, as well as several trips to the auction house and Goodwill. I have to get rid of all this useless crap because I have enough stuff that I refuse to part with.

Monday was Lisa and my last visit to Jenny Craig. Lisa lost 16.8 pounds and I lost 13.8. Now we are going to do it on our own and do a weekly check in here at the high school. We will weigh in at the weight room and check each other's food and exercise logs. Last night we power walked, did the stairs in the gym, sprinted the short halls, and did lunges down another hall. It was kick butt and we are sore today. I talked her into joining Zumba for the next session so between Zumba and our power workouts, we should be able to take care of the last few pounds we need to work on.

On Monday night I went to dinner with two dear friends from college. They were there for me during my divorce and we have stayed close. When we were in college Karen didn't have kids, Dawn's kids were tiny, and my kids were teens and preteens. Now mine are grown, Dawn's kids are teens, and Karen's are little. Funny how time ticks on. Renee also went with us but isn't in the picture (she took it). I work with Renee and when I went to Karen's baby shower she was there; we didn't even know we both knew her. I invited Renee to dinner to surprise Karen. It was a ton of fun.

The pictures are of my girls' night out, Paul's dogs begging, my old man Vader, and one from Cheri's birthday that was from Teresa's camera and I just got it...Enjoy! Love You!!!!

March Birthday Weekend!!!

Phewwwwww - This was a busy four days! Thursday was Kortnie's (Charlie's girlfriend) 25th birthday and we celebrated at Outback. Cheri even joined us for dinner. We got Kortnie a birthday sundae but she wouldn't let anyone sing to her. I sang to her on facebook so she was covered.

Friday was the end of a busy week. We had the time change, finals, the start of the new trimester, and grades...not to mention teaching Zumba and a killer head cold. I didn't even bowl Wednesday because I was so sick. I was ready for some fun so we went out with the teachers for "Book Club." That is what we call a teachers' night out. Once we got home Cheri and Alex stopped by for a visit. Teachers are done with their night out by about 6 or 7 pm. Clint and Amanda got in Friday night for the girls' birthday celebrations.

Saturday was Lindsey's 19th birthday. Lindsey is Amanda's sister so she is family. I slept in so I missed lunch but Paul and I met Clint, Amanda, Lindsey, Fred, and Teresa for a movie and dinner. Fred and Teresa are Amanda and Lindsey's parents...family too. We saw Bounty Hunter, very funny, and ate at Outback again. I didn't have to have my arm twisted to eat there again because it is my favorite restaurant. We went over Fred and Teresa's for cake and ice cream. I brought Romeo over to play with their dog, Abby. I think they had a fun play date.

Sunday was Cheri's 19th birthday and we had a dinner party here with Amanda's family and my Mom and Mike. Charlie and Kortnie couldn't be here because Charlie works all weekends. His days off are in the middle of the week. Cheri's boyfriend, Alex, was here too. I made Cheri's favorites, Fettuccine Alfredo, and I made her strawberry cheesecake instead of a cake. I made the cheesecake in cupcake cups. I had never done that before. We weren't quite sure how to eat them, but we figured it out. I can't believe Cheri is 19 years old! I told her next year she becomes my sister. I also told Paul that when the kids turn 30 they are his kids.

I, of course, added some new pictures of Romeo. He is growing so fast! We have had him 3 weeks and when we got him he weighed 8 pounds, now he weighs 19 pounds!!! I am charting his growth on my dining room wall. He made it through the entire day without an accident in the house! That makes Mommy very happy. I know, I seriously need grandkids. I have pictures of Cheyenne and Vader too. Vader is 12 years old now and he acts more like an old man than a cat. He hates both dogs but they don't seem to care.

Enjoy the pics and I love you all!!!

Fun Filled Four Days! - Except the migraine

Thursday was an unexpected day off for me. It was really foggy and didn't clear up in time for a two hour delay so we got the day off. I cleaned house and played with the pups all day. They even cancelled Zumba because school was cancelled so I was totally free for the entire day. It was great because I had time to get the house and basement ready for the pizza party I was throwing my yearbook kids Saturday. Have I told you how much I love my job?

Friday didn't start out very well. I woke up with a killer migraine and had to call off work. I literally didn't get out of bed until 3 pm. I was worried because we were supposed to go up to Auburn Hills Palace to watch a Pistons game with Cheri and Alex (new boyfriend from college). I finally felt better and we did get to go. We didn't know it but Paul had gotten a deal on some awesome seats for the game. They were normally $150 seats and he got them for $25. They were right behind the $600 seats on the floor. We even had a waitress to get us whatever we wanted. Alex was sitting right next to where the players come out of and go into the locker room. You can see one of the players going by Alex in a picture below. He got to high five them at the end of the game (they won 101-87 against the Washington Wizards) and he said they were very sweaty so it wasn't all that wonderful - haha. We went out to eat before the game and stopped at Courtney's (Cheri's good friend) Mom's new bar and restaurant on the way home. It was a fun double date night.

Saturday was a busy one because I was having a pizza party for my yearbook kids. One student, Erika, was having a birthday and I told her how I always make my kids homemade pizza for their birthday. She said she wanted me to make it for her and that got the ball rolling. Paul finished our basement rec room and they got to use it for the first time. We had a really good time. Erika's parents came over, as did my friend Lisa, since Lisa and Erika's dad are first cousins. I think I told you that I am pretty sure that Lisa is related to everyone in the Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio region. After I made the pizzas I went down and played the golf card game with the kids and they stayed until about 9 pm. It was fun and now I have promised to do this for my newspaper kids because they caught wind of it and were jealous.

I slept most of Sunday away except for playing with the pups. I got some funny pictures of them playing and some cute ones of my Romeo. He gained 4 pounds in 5 days. When I got him 2 weeks ago he was 8 pounds, now he is 15 pounds! I can't believe how big he has gotten. I am still crazy about him. Cheyenne and Romeo are starting to play more and more. Sometimes Romeo gets on Cheyenne nerves and I am surprised how much she puts up with! She better put him in his place because he is going to bigger than her in a few months!!!

Love you all and Happy Spring!!!!!!!!!!
