Paul III's birthday pie - he doesn't like cake (I have no idea what I am saying in this picture)

Swine Flu and Cheri's first semester at Adrian

Well, I am home from work because I am on day 5 of my Swine Flu. Several of my students have tested postitive for the H1N1 so my doctor is telling me that is what I have. I have all the symtoms of the Swine Flu. I haven't been this sick in about 17 years. I do feel better today. The fever is going down but the coughing is picking up. I probably won't be back to work until Wednesday or Thursday. I am praying that none of you get this. I actually thought I was going to die a for a few days in the middle of this.

Since I am feeling a bit better, I thought I would post a few fun pictures of Cheri at college. The best part about facebook is that I can steal pictures from Cheri and her friends and I get to see all the crazy stuff they do. I've posted some of the best ones. They take late night trips to Walmart and pose for crazy pictures. They go into the college library and theater for pictures. They take trips to Mackinac, the Toledo Zoo and someplace that had crawl through things for kids their size. They also went on a secret mission that I was told about but sworn to secrecy.

Cheri is having the time of her life at college. Her post the other day on facebook was "I love my life = )" What is not to love about her life?

Clint and Amanda are doing great too. Amanda is busy with student teaching and is starting to serve at her job (more money in tips!). Clint is working at Best Buy and both of them are doing well in their classes. They are loving the married life. They are also so busy I am not getting many pictures of them lately.

Charlie and Kortnie are both job hunting right now. On nice days they take off on the Harley. They visit me at bowling and stop over to check on me since I have been sick. Let's wish them luck on the job hunting. Kortnie is looking into becoming a phlebotomist. I wish her luck with that since I would faint.

PIII just celebrated his 30th birthday. He was here a week ago and we had a dinner party for him (see pics above). Then he went to Florida to help his Mom move down there. I can't believe Paul has a kid that is 30 (of course, once they hit 30 they are all Paul's kids and not mine!).

Jon and Hannah are busy working. I haven't heard much from them since we went to Denver. We have Dad Ramirez's car here and Paul is having it sent to Jon. Dad got a new car from Florida and is giving his to Jon since Jon's car died. Jon can walk to the hospital he is working at so he has been living without a car for a while now. I'm sure he will be happy to get some wheels again. Mom and Dad Ramirez dropped off the car but I wouldn't let them in the house. I really don't want them sick like I am.

Paul has escaped the Swine flu so far. I've been sleeping on the couch and staying away from him the best I can. I really don't want him to get this. He has been getting me food, drinks, and medicine for almost a week now. I haven't been off the couch since Thursday night.

Mom and Mike came over Saturday (I think -the days kinda ran together for a while) and brought me soup, jello, yogurt, and a Snuggie. Mike made the soup and I am still eating it. It hit the spot. They only stayed a few minutes and both wore masks. I'm hoping that was good enough. I don't want them sick too.

I hope this finds everyone healthy and far away from the pig flu. Wash your hands and stay healthy.

Love Ya,
Cindy

Cindy's 30 year reunion...

This was one busy weekend for Paul and I. We started out going up to Riverview and tailgaiting at J-Dub's before the Riverview Homecoming football game with about a dozen fellow alumni. The game was very cold but Riverview won and everyone was thrilled. I guess they had only won one other game before Homecoming. I lost my keys at the game and spent a half an hour hunting them down. I finally found them and we headed back to finish tailgating. It was a nice way to reintroduce ourselves after 30 years. I had not been back to the high school since they told me I didn't have to come back.

The big news of Friday night was Bedford won their 6th game which means we are going to playoffs for the first time since 1990!!!! I had people texting me during the game. Riverview and Bedford both won so I was thrilled.

Saturday started off with Paul and I going to Cheri's game in Adrian. It was very cold again and Adrian lost in the 4th quarter by one point. Then, Paul and I headed home to get ready for the 79 reunion. We headed up to the Sportman's Den and enjoyed food, friends, and fun! It was so nice to reconnect with friends I had not seen in so many years. Everyone looked great! There was a video running of pictures from our high school years and that brought back so many fond memories. Paul and I stayed until midnight. He was so sweet because he really didn't know anyone but he stuck it out until I was ready to leave.

Last night had me thinking how wonderful my high school years were. I was friends with many different cliques and seemed to get along with everyone. I dated a couple of classmates, but nothing serious. The people I went to school with were (and are) wonderful people. It was nice to go back to those days and relive them for a weekend. I was very lucky to have been part of the Riverview Class of 79. Thanks for the memories 79 alumni!

I miss these faces...

Missing my babies!!!

I just got done looking at Kelly's blog and I am missing my kids at that age. At the time I felt so overwhelmed with responsibility that I don't think I realized how much I would miss them when they were grown. I do actually love the ages my kids are because they are special people. I just really need someone to have a baby, that actually lives in Michigan, so I can calm that feeling. I haven't even seen Charlie's friend, Kerri's, baby in a few weeks. I'm itching to take a road trip to Indiana to cuddle my little cousins, Izzy and Laney. To feel those soft cheeks and to see those innocent eyes taking in the wonder of the world, that's what I long for. I think the circle of life has me in limbo right now so when I do have that on a regular basis again (grandkids) I will never take one moment for granted.
