Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo?

As many of you know I have wanted a Newfoundland dog since I was a very young girl. I met one when my Dad's friend hired me to show his dog when I lived in Rhode Island. I was sitting on the grass watching a show, waiting for my show, and turned to come face to face with a big, black bear. I let out a blood curdling scream and then realized it was a huge dog. I started talking to the owner and fell head over heels in love with the breed. All these years I have gotten the dogs everyone else wanted and now it is time for my boy. I will get him the last weekend in February or the first weekend in March. I get to go visit him next weekend for the first time. He is in Mt. Morris, Michigan, which is about an hour and a half from my house. I can't wait to get my hands on him. I will, of course, take my camera and post pictures of him next weekend. The ones below are the ones the breeder emailed me.

To update everyone on how Paul is doing - he is doing really well for now. We went to the University of Michigan and spent the day in classes, getting Paul tested, and talking to different doctors. We learned a lot and understand the process of a kidney transplant much more than we did before. His numbers for his kidney function have gone up a bit so that is good news. He isn't on dialysis yet and we are hoping he can avoid that all together, but we will see. He is in the process of getting on the transplant list and that takes time because he has to get more tests done to make sure he is a good candidate and the team of doctors need to talk about it. It takes about five years to get a kidney unless you can find a live donor. We have several people that have already offered to be tested, which is good. There is a lot to donation so they will have to go through extensive testing to make sure they are not only a match, but in perfect health. We can't even start getting them tested until Paul is officially placed on the list. We are hoping his number keep going up and we can avoid any surgery for now. Keep him in your prayers that his health improves.

Enjoy the pictures of our new baby, Romeo.
Love you all!!!
